The anti-inflammatory properties of tobacco have not been fully studied. We all know that if you put tobacco on a bee sting it eases up fast, probably better than most OTC ointments. But folks dont seem too interested in figuring it out cause tobacco is regarded as a non-healthy plant. Its probably real damn hard to get research grant money to find good uses for tobacco. I think tobacco itself would just be tannins, like acorns, or tea
