It's about 10 miles from Stevenson to Orme.
Y'all think genetics can't make it 10 miles in 60 years?
The whole rut map discussion in this area is a bunch of worthless crap. It's like we are discussing this with a "Wildlife Biologist" with a degree from Auburn......or something.
I'll be there hunting the rut from now until probably the 11th then head back to flat ground.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

Well Goat, this is a rarity , I agree . I don't like disinformation . That's what I've been sayin' , the genetics from the TN releases are only 10-12 miles North must be an influence up in that pocket of North Jackson . CNC blows those off and credits only native deer , that may not have even existed up that direction. And as far as the rut and genetics , understanding the big picture in Jackson Co will make yer head hurt. No keyboard cowboy from LA , with visions of sugar plumbs dancing in his head , is gonna solve it either. Once again , insert the Raw Hide method and just go huntin' !

Yall got me so confused I am sitting in a shooter house that's rocking. It's like Christmas I don't want to miss it. Beavers be flooding all of Jackson County if we don't settle this . Them 2 today made 68 and I don't even no when they rut I noticed the state checking a lot of backwater last week. Saw a trapper yesterday. There’s water in places I’ve never seen before from beavers in Jones and Widows Creek.
