Kill him

May be done for a while - light east and varying wind most of week. Then the wind gets good - but rain is with it. I will be shut diwn for days with good rain. I feel like i was a small child last time i got to hunt the Big Field 🤣🤣. Its been weeks - same for my buck field. Lot of north winds and light and variables no good for me

Good luck!!

I couldn't see them but I just had a buck chasing a doe through here. All I could hear was running and him grunting. I'm in Brierfield and maybe it will get better soon. I've saw 3 fawns the last 3 days, to say it been slow is an understatement

Im in Six Mile according to my cameras our target buck was out in daylight chasing this past Thursday and Friday with several other new bucks showing up. All we saw Saturday was spikes chasing. I thought it would be over by now but hoping they will still be chasing this week.

Finally got one with a pistol. Been telling my self for the past several years I’d do it but still grab the rifle or end up missing when I do try.
.357 was better than I thought.

I've wanted to try my .357 on a deer. What range would be good? What ammo?

I’d probably give it a try up to 20yds, but this one walked directly under my tree. I’d of tried spearing it if I had one.

I carry my 357 with me all the time too. Have some 200gr round nose bullets for the occasion. Have my 357 rifle as well with the Leverloution ammo in it.

I tried with a 1911 with a red dot earlier this year and somehow missed the same shot.
I had some handloads my cousin made me a year or so ago that we’re just lead hollow points. They sure put that deer down though.

I use Winchester American Eagle158gr soft point in rifle and pistol. I ain't found a bullet yet.

Shots with pistol been fairly close less than 40 yards . Longest shot with a rifle was 117 yards with complete pass thru .

Just got a Taurus Raging Hunter .357 with a 8 3/8” barrel. Topped with a Holosun 507k. Using 158gr lead with copper jacket can hit a 6” plate at 100 yards 6 out of 7 times. Hopefully will get real world field time this weekend.
