I don't like em , but the deer are gonna breed regardless of weather. When the stagnate weather breaks , there will be more noticeable daytime movement. Seen it many times , when a extreme weather pattern moves in early rut , movement slows , then when that pattern breaks , it's like someone opened the gate for a few days. Happened year before last when we had the Polar Vortex and it was single digits for about a week . The first day it got above freezing, the sun popped out and thawed it was a blood bath. Unseasonably warm, rainy, foggy several days in a row , works the same way.

I’ve always had and still have to work in the rain sometimes. For that reason, if I don’t have to do anything in the rain, I refuse to do it. I DO NOT hunt in the rain.

Rut won't be for at least a couple weeks here. Did get to watch a couple decent bucks spar 10 minutes Christmas. If I was still mad at them I may have got out of the house

the wather affects the hunter more than it does the deer
but I would not hunt in a torrential downpour unless I was on some sort of trip like at an SOA and only had a limited time to hunt. Missed a monster at Uchee creek in a torrential downpour in 2020. Absolutely an enormous buck and it was raining so hard I couldn't hardly see where I was walking. I was wearing my duck hunting waders, a rain coat and a tarp draped over my head and shoulder sitting on on the ground with my gun under the tarp. I pulled it out to shoot for only a short amount of time and it got so wet I had to go back and clean it and oil it in the hotel room. Miserable day to hunt

I usually have 8-10 different racked bucks of various ages this time of year. Here lately it's just one or two passing thru
