Yep.....Now if all the leases in Montgomery Co go to $25+ an acre……how many more hunters can be packed in to pay for it??........This is where we are headed…..

I’d like to think people wouldn’t pay it. But I know better.

Go to Texas and lease u some land and u will see where bama lease prices are heading and there’s no end in sight. Lotta folks with big money will scoop up that 25 an acre and go well beyond that and never blink. Better enjoy it while u can. This is another reason why the smaller 20 and 40 plots of land become the go to because many are being priced out so just insert feeder on 20 next to that 2000 and u can shoot away without paying the big money. It is what it is any nothing can be done about it.

I find it hard to believe but the place we go to in Sonora is something like 4500 acres. Those guys are actually paying less per acre then what we are paying in Alabama. I didn’t think sure a thing existed in Texas.

I’ve seen multiple VERY large tracts unable to continue to manage deer herds for older age class bucks after corn was legalized. Just throw their hands up and quit. Done with it. Spend tens of thousands on habitat improvements, feed, etc to see the buck segment dwindle down to nothing older than 3 after all the outskirts properties had a way to attract deer to the lines.

That’s why there needs to be a quota put on the amount of folks the state keeps letting in …….If people want to come here and hunt then less out of staters need to pay more to do it…..instead of packing in more and more hunters from clubs continuing to take on more out of state members to pay the lease…..At a certain point the problem becomes the total amount of people killing "1"…..

Not I. I despise throwing out bait and hunting over it.

Yea, and kind of ironic. Those rich folks sure were ok with being able to use money as an advantage to grow big deer and improve their experience. But damn if the the neighbor with 20 acres puts up a feeder…

Can we address the real issue? The Alabama deer season and harvest limits are too liberal.

Me either. I was doing it before they started it and will probably do it after they stop it if they ever do.

It doesnt matter if you lower the bag limits if you keep adding more hunters…..The first things that need to be done are enforcing the limits we already have and capping the amount of out of state folks that are allowed in…..Quit adding one more hunter, one more hunter, one more hunter……and enforce the three buck limit......Before that is done I wouldnt even consider reducing bag limits and seasons

Never should have added 10 days statewide. I’m still not over it. Makes me boil every year.

I wish that was the philosophy for turkey hunting. Chuckles has totally phucked up turkey season for hunters in south AL
