Exactly what I was thinking. I’d move there tomorrow if I was in the position to do so. I love the town and surrounding area. The rural property outside of Auburn is beautiful as well and has some good hunting.

Grew up in Florence. I think it’s an awesome town.

Never loved Decatur, Athens or Jasper.

Auburn is awesome as well.

Better question…what towns COULD be great with development? Like a Clanton, etc.

I've been to Auburn a few times and I never thought it was very impressive. Seemed like homes were also too expensive.

"For as much as I like Rockford, Al, there's literally nothing to do there."

I've been through there several times and have yet to understand, how on earth they could afford a police dept? Literally nothing there but a couple of lawyers and a convenience store and also a school. ?????

I remember when Frisco City was a busy little town. Would have loved to see it in its hey day.

Demopolis. The new West-Alabama Highway project may be just what it needs to take off. If it does, I’d move there without a doubt.

I’m from Decatur and it has changed not for the good in the area I grew up in. Athens would be good but Huntsville is coming that way. Hartselle is ok. Cullman has come on well. Clanton blew their chance to take off when they got the Ag center canceled. Calera, Columbiana would be ok. Y’all throw off on Bessemer but its zip code is used on the south side of 459 and goes out into the county in Hueytown area which are the best parts. I’m not talking Brighten. You might have to define how small.

What years did you live in Florence. It’s gotten better and better and really exploded in the past 10-15 years
The number of celebrities that come thru has been interesting. Brooke Burke is one that makes her way thru at times.

I’ll be blasphemous and say this about my small town. As much as I loved growing up here and rasing kids in the country, there’s nothing special about where I live or this area. We’re 30 min from everything, and you have to drive 30-60 min for a good job.
I’d never sell this place, but I would move if my wife would. There are some really nice, clean, interesting places you could live besides the dirty south. There, I said it.
We miss out on lots of opportunities being isolated as we are here.
Sure we’re insulated from a lot of crime, and troubles, but the older I get the more I feel this way.

Yes; as one ages being close to quality healthcare becomes important. Like REAL important. Everyone makes their choices; though.
