i live on the montgomery/crenshaw line. zero tarsal darkening on the does so far. does ARE a bit skittish around the bucks when they visit. had both sexes on the game camera past couple of nights. no scrapes so far on my little bit of land ...

Saw some dark tarsals on some does last week and some fresh scrapes yesterday but most of the bucks are still in bachelor groups. Did see a big ol mature buck run a group of smaller bucks out of a green field last week. About 2-3 weeks away, I would guess

Same time every year. About 3 weeks from now. Will still be going into turkey season.

I am rolling the dice during that same time bamaeyedoc.....I will be in the Monroeville area from then, until the season ends....I did pretty good at the end of the season last year.....even though the temps were a little warm.....

I’m thinking the same thing. Historically for me the 24-26 have been great. I’ve only taken one buck in my area during February.

Had a six point chase a doe down woodley rd today. They weren’t just “together”, he was running her. That’s not typical for that area and is a bit early so I’m just going to say it was a bizarre incident.

good-sized eight showed up early tonight. does left when he arrived. Tarsals looked clear. 2-3 weeks - closer to 3 - is what i figure, too, here on the line ...

There were some does released in southeast Montgomery Co that came from Marengo Co that could have had an early Jan rut......

How far north of Goodwyn Road? Parkman Cattle Co. land runs north of Goodwyn. Was it west of there?

Our rut is right now in the montevallo area but I've killed them pushing does as early as the first week of December so you just never really know when you might get lucky

We will burn that bridge when we get there
