The world was better off when he left office. Carter did a LOT of good for people he didn't know. He put a lot of effort into using what little political clout he had to help those in need.

I see him as a true Christian man, who was misguided into thinking God fearing and faithful to Christ meant soft demeanor and killing with kindness works everywhere. It works fine unless you're the POTUS. Then it's a disaster.

He showed that clearly, but he lived his faith and used it to help others and bring them to Christ. I didn't like his politics, but he was a good man outside of his politics.


Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.
