The world was better off when he left office. Carter did a LOT of good for people he didn't know. He put a lot of effort into using what little political clout he had to help those in need.

I see him as a true Christian man, who was misguided into thinking God fearing and faithful to Christ meant soft demeanor and killing with kindness works everywhere. It works fine unless you're the POTUS. Then it's a disaster.

He showed that clearly, but he lived his faith and used it to help others and bring them to Christ. I didn't like his politics, but he was a good man outside of his politics.

Many of his beliefs ran completely counter to biblical Christianity. I had to look it up, but he supported abortion, same-sex marriage, feminism, women Pastors and practically every Democratic candidate no matter what their beliefs. He seemed to sincerely be a nice guy but his Christian profession definitely deserved to be challenged.

I was required to read one of the books he authored while I was in high school. “An hour before daylight”. It was about his rural upbringing during the depression. I kind of enjoyed it, but felt like there was another theme to it. Couldn’t nail it down at the time because I didn’t know much about politics. I found it in some old stuff that came from my parents house and tried re-reading it a few years ago. I was absolutely disgusted with the liberal themes and the out and out lies that were told. He grew up in the depression, but the Carters had plenty of money.

Not exactly but close. He held his nose and still signed bills into law for abortion and funding abortion. That makes him a murderer in my book. He didn't like doing that and was against abortion, as birth control. But he did not stop it.

He would not sign a bill that totally endorsed abortion for birth control. He did comprise on rape etc. That still makes him a murderer.

"A bitter five-month struggle over the use of federal funds for abortion ended Dec. 7 when the House and Senate finally agreed on a compromise position.

The agreement enabled final passage of $60-billion of fiscal 1978 appropriations for the Departments of Labor, Health, Education and Welfare (HEW) and related agencies. It came just in time to avert cuts in the mid-December paychecks of some 240,000 employees in the affected agencies.

The breakthrough came when the House voted 181–167 to partially loosen restrictions on payment of Medicaid money for abortions for low-income women in cases of rape, incest and severe physical illness. (Vote 701, p. 202-H)

The Senate, despite its long-standing preference for a more lenient policy, quickly approved the new wording by voice vote the same day.

Some attributed the abortion agreement as much to members' weariness, frustration and the desire to adjourn as to the actual wording of the final provision. A number of members had already left town, as the lower-than-usual total House vote (348) perhaps reflected." 1977.

I was in the Navy when this clown got elected. One time we did not get a paycheck for several weeks, due to his clownship. They could not get a budget passed. I could not stand him. Then the Iran hostage crisis foolishness. I think it was Margaret Thatcher that gave the idiots in Iran a deadline and then went in a rescued their hostages, in short order. Carter made a laughing stock out of the U.S.A. Idiot cut the military budget to fund social services...aka welfare etc.

I surely hate that I never road tripped to attend one of his Sunday School classes he led. I am sure I would have benefitted from sharing that time.

Not really. He campaigned for democrats and backed liberal policies his whole life. Good riddance.

I had to purchase gas during his presidency, stomach the hostages in Iran being paraded around, the Panama canal given away, the criminals from Cuba that we received, etc., he sucked as POTUS. Biden is on a whole different level of suck. Get ready for MSM to tell what a great president he was. He did a lot of damage to this country. Did I mention he sucked as POTUS?

Jimmy Carter was one of the weakest, most pathetic men to ever become president. His greatest sin is allowing the Iranian Revolution to happen, turning one of America's closest allies in the Middle East into an enemy and creating an oil crisis that wrecked the economy.

No former American president is more hated by Iranians than Jimmy Carter. It was he who decided at the Guadeloupe Conference in 1979 to withdraw his support from the Shah and to support Khomeini together with Helmut Schmidt, James Callaghan and Valéry Giscard d'Estaing. He actively helped the mullahs to come to power making him directly responsible for the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism.

He emptied mental institutions into the streets resulting in a massive increase in violent crime and causing homelessness everywhere.

He banned nuclear fuel reprocessing and killed the breeder reactor program, crippling our nuclear energy sector for generations and leaving us with no solution to the nuclear waste problem.

He allowed tens of thousands of illegal Iranians into the US causing untold amounts of violent cultural problems.

He supported the murderous Mugabe and sold out the Rhodesians.

He went full bore against South Africa, one of America's key allies. He consistently sided with Soviet and Chinese-backed third world guerrillas against American interests.

He gave up the Panama Canal, one of America's most important strategic assets, for $1. Thanks to him, the Chinese are now buying up Panama and threatening American national security and the economy.

He demoralized the military and actively tried to make the lives of our soldiers worse. One of the pettiest things he did was refusing to give servicemen any raises despite stagflation wrecking the cost of living. One of Reagan's first acts was giving the military a raise.

He let in the Marielitos in 1980 and caused an enormous spike in crime in Miami. Castro made it clear that he was flushing Cuba's toilets, sending criminals and lunatics, but Jimmy Carter (in his infinite wisdom) kept accepting the boats.

He powered up militant Islam through Gaza and Hamas, which still threatens the World today. His actions in office, and for decades after, supported hundreds of thousands of deaths via Islamic terror.

He was a spineless cretin who nearly destroyed America through neglect and sabotage. I don't believe in hell but if it exists, Jimmy Carter is burning in it. He is the epitome of evil and the world is a better place without him.

Whoever is happy will make others happy too. Anne Frank
