Sitting at my favorite south wind field in an area where the only 4+ year old buck I have on camera has been. Not even sure I’ll shoot him if he shows up cause he’s not a deer I would mount.

I've seen them to that too, but only during the rut. I told someone that that's what a smart buck does when he doesnt have to worry about getting shot. To heck with running the woods all day and night looking for the ladies. Just lay down in the field that you know they frequent and wait for them to come to you. This technique is only effective on select, heavily managed properties with very high harvest criteria. Otherwise, here in 95% of Alabama, it will prove fatal to a buck's health.

I hav had deer lay down a bunch and seen it over the years at good places. Done it several times where i am at now in woods cam and fields. The one key thing for me - a very unpressured place i see the lay-down in the field. I hav had small rack bucks lay down in my hardwoods spot this year. Got two 6 year old 7 point toads daylighten regularly there too because of the low pressure. Unfortunately - next 2 weeks show no wind for it. Typical 😃
The first 4 years of this lease i had the ground blind at hardwoods we never hunted it. Hunted it once last year. Gonna step up the pressure if we ever get a wind

swing and a miss for me.. them clear cuts will throw you off on yardage ... after determining i missed i went a ranged it... what i thought was close to 300 was actually 410.

Four does about 5 o'clock. First time I have sat this stand in two years that I didn't see a buck.

I saw one little bick and a doe, then saw three does in my yard when i got home
