I have a 20 ga Remington Special Field that is in excellent shape and I would like to shoot tungsten but the barrel is a really light weight contour and I certainly dont want to damage this gun. My question is, what size shot would be safe and effective for coyotes? I have full and a modified Remchoke tubes. I will handload and roll crimp. It is a 2 3/4" gun. Any recipes appreciated.

As long as you are using a quality load recipe with a good wad and Mylar, I’d think you could shoot whatever size you want without damaging it.

The factory full choke may surprise you with tss 8s. You should be able to find a 1 5/8 oz load for 2 3/4” from whomever you purchase the shot from.

Ballistic products load of the week has a 1 5/8 oz 2 3/4" 20 gauge load. I loaded BBs for my Dad to deer hunt with. Through a Buck kicker Full it throws a mean pattern.

Thanks. I am still amazed at the downrange power of this shot, even in the smaller sizes.

I killed 2 bucks in front of dogs with Ts since I switched to TSS this season. The first one was 75-80 yards. The second shot spun him around and he crashed into the gallberries and died. The second buck was at a more normal range of 40 yards. That deer hit the ground so hard he bounced. He actually seemed to go limp before he hit the ground. To say I'm impressed with it is an understatement.
