I’ll hunt them when the condition are perfect but I have a hard time sitting inside an enclosed stand watching grass grow. Always see deer but it’s not my thing.

If it involves seeing deer wether it be a road - creek crossing - cutover - power line or a green field - i love it!! My lease has a lot of unhuntable woods - so thick a rabbit cant penetrate 😀 i hunt my fields and lov it!!
It depends on the land. I hav hunted pastures and fingers very successfully and loved it but i just like watching wildlife
Ifn ya dont like it - don’t do it!!

I like hunting food plots but my favorite place is a hardwood bottom with a creek behind my stand.

I like hunting a trail or edge going into a plot in my climber. Shooting houses over food plots are incredibly boring to me.

My two favorites are cutovers and power/gas lines. You have to constantly be scanning for deer which passes time. I like food plots in the evening because it gives me a little more light. I’d rather have my finger nails pulled off than to hunt them in the morning though, unless weather calls for it.

_^^ me too
Love cuttover or power. But try to win or do the best on whatever the property has! Aint had a powerline or cuttover in a long time. That constant having to scan with eyes fun. I had a creek crossing in a bend that was like that. Deer Could hit right or left at any instance crossing creek

I don’t enjoy it. But have been hunting with my son almost every hunt and enjoy that more than my dislike of it.
He has Terrible allergies and being in a stand helps tremendously
Luckily we have a long powerline with fields and quite a few nice houses on planted fields in hardwoods
I will say We see tons of deer, and I won’t lie the comfort factor is nice. But it just isn’t my style of hunting
Once we get his allergies figured out we will be on the move in the woods.

Its hunting pressure and wind 😀 Give me a cutover or long straight road through the thick pines any day over a plot. I also love a good ole creek crossing. I’m still hunting the same crossing now that I found the first year we got the place. Still as much activity as there ever been.

I’ve killed some good ones on a good plot especially early season and before corn was king This Yessir I do it every year. I’ll hunt food plots in the afternoons and woods roads or clear cuts in the mornings I’ve killed more big wallhanger bucks on food plots.

It does not matter to me if I am hunting green fields, woods, roads or trails. If I have a good chance at seeing deer I will be happy at any of those spots. The older I get the more I am thankful to Our Creator to allow me another opportunity to be in the woods doing what I have loved to do all my life.
