If the ID was in a leather wallet in his back pocket, it would be pretty insulated from a fire.
Assuming that’s the case, the ID would be sandwiched between the guys body and the seat he was sitting in. If the fire burned through those two layers, it’s still encased in the leather wallet.
They probably extinguished the fire within 15-20 mins so it didn’t have time to completely destroy yhe
ID. Passport also?

One thing not mentioned in either this case or NOLA is........ drugs.
PTSD drugs are notoriously unpredictable and often cited as a typical approach to mind controlling methods.
Surely these guys were on something. If they were not, then that raises other questions. Check the medical records. Check the psych evaluations, Check the strange military vaccine records.

The pictures I saw was a trunk full of racing fuel and fireworks. Seems like a haphazard attempt for a green beret. If he was really dead set on causing an explosion, I’d imagine he’d come up with something better than that. He may have just wanted to kill himself and make a scene doing it.
