^^ I am eat up with pines - mostly what i got. Blessed to hav this lease - and u kind of hav to adapt to the property u have. I would much rather hav a lot of hardwoods and clear cuts and power-lines or pastures with fingers. I got done with clubs and prayed a lot and this is what popes up 5 minutes from my house. A good hunter adapts to what he has I hated hunting Florida at first - then by year 3 i had figured out how to hunt it and i also got lucky to get a clearcut the second year
The corn tooth crack above was a joke for the corn haters 😀 - but there is some truth to it because thats the hand we were dealt. I gonna enjoy it either way but like the old way
Getting away from the club bs (i was in a few good clubs but that was rare) has been so awesome. No selfish 5 year old adults to deal with
Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self We need prayer for our country now more than ever

Guy in my club spends $300 a month on triple threat and corn to bait his area. That’s child’s play compared to some. There’s ppl paying more for feed monthly than their mortgage cost. We filled up 6 55gal drums before the season. I don’t think they have been touched. All the guys show up with their trucks full of sacked corn. They said it’s easier to handle the sacks then haul it by buckets.

I have one property that doesn’t have any corn on it unless my BIl has put some out. I smoked a doe in the clearcut the other day and that’s a weird feeling now (free deer)…. 🤣 I’d be much better off if they outlawed it, but it’ll never happen. Too much money involved now.

I hate the laws allowing hunting around corn but love to use it at the house just to feed them because it pulls them in like they are on a string. Nothing better than sitting at the kitchen table with hot coffee and watching them out back.

They said it’s easier to handle the sacks then haul it by buckets. I could get a couple drums filled at the co-op but I don’t have a tractor to get them off the truck or trailer back at camp. Also, the idea of shoveling corn out of a drum into a bunch of buckets and taking it through rough trails where it’ll get tossed and spilled just isn’t worth the meager savings of bulk. I can move 600# of sacked corn in about 1-2 minutes with just two hands.

Would be fine if it was prohibited tomorrow morning. I wish that would happen. I'd still kill deer. We got a bunch of new generation hunters that started hunting when it became legal by permit. Only way a bunch of them know how to kill a deer.

I’m with the guys about prohibiting it, but that only stops the legal guys. But sure did enjoy it when I was the only legal person with corn for miles. I planted a lot of corn for the deer through the years. I’d go back to that in a heartbeat. But we all know the state gets to much money from it, to stop it now.

I have no corn on my property. I have zero problems seeing deer, holding deer, or killing bucks.

its no wonder AL is eat up with feral Hogs Yep them cornholers are gonna be complaining about hogs sooner or later. I was really sorry to hear when they legalized baiting, I think it was a huge mistake.

I know clubs that do and don’t feed during hunting season . Not a real difference in the numbers or quality for that matter . The ones that do seem to kill early the ones that don’t seem to be killing now until . To each his own I could careless either way but corn is good for business lol Same for us. All it did was allow us to see deer in a particular spot. (Easy to get to spots). We aren’t killing any more deer then any other years. Only a couple good bucks have been killed actually eating in a corn pile. Most have been after the rut.

its no wonder AL is eat up with feral Hogs Alabama was eat up with hogs LONG before corn was legal! I can believe the amount of people that think feeding corn is a new thing. I know people in Alabama that has been feeding and hunting over corn since the early 80s. Heck when we got the place we have 12years ago, the first thing we had to do was remove a bunch of feeders from the plots and other areas on the property. They’d bring corn in by the trailer load of drums. Corn is not new.
