Sitting on my back deck in FL. Had some does move behind my pond around 645 am. Nice cool 34 degrees and sunny. Perfect day to kill another deer.

Shot 3 ducks and then pulled to a deer spot to hunt…just sitting there talking to a buddy, buck came out chasing a doe…missed my 4th buck of the year at 250. I give up deer hunting. Never thought confidence could be below 0 but that’s where we are

We saw a stud chasing at 275 yards early this am. He crossed twice and stopped for 2 seconds one time. Seen 8 total, does, six point, big buck.
No way my daughter could get on him that quick. I would have gotten a shot at least.
Maybe he’ll come back through

Hunting some public land on the Tombigbee. Around 7:15, I had a racked buck bumping a doe and grunting. It was too thick to shoot. Perfect weather this morning.

Amazed we ever see a deer, whole shooting house smells like shampoo and hairspray

I killed a decent 8 point running a scrape line right after daylight.

Still slow for me, just that kind of year so far. But my buddies grandson shot a 8 and had no blood so I put my dog on it. First drop of blood about 100yds dead deer about another 100. Little jokers smile was worth it.

At bottom stand - first hunt here this season. Wanted to wait till end of jan to hunt here. Dont think it time and dont feel great. Stand right on top field so will say by to them when i leave. Tired of waiting for winds. Probably hunted buck field and big field 5 times combined and i hunted muzzy. At least wind in decent direction - only spot i got where it is.

Didn’t go this morning. Decided to rest. Sitting this afternoon. Gotta leave tomorrow and head home. Can’t complain though. Me and the Mrs. both killed a pretty decent buck. It’s still fun being able to still get out and go. The killing is just the reward for the freedom to enjoy nature. Hunting is the easy part.
