Mainly because it’s one of the most popular calibers right now. Lot of folks buying them with unrealistic expectations. I’ve got a Model Seven chambered in it and It’s a great round for whitetails, but it’s not the 1000 yard magic sniper round a lot of folks make it out to be. Plus there’s a lot of hate out there for it and folks love to make fun of it. They’ll be a few along here shortly. Kinda my thoughts as well. Or using wrong type of bullet and unhappy with deer killing performance With my handloads, I would feel comfortable shooting an elk with my 6.5CM over 500 yards. I watched a video years ago that showed a bull elk DRT from over 600 yards shot with the 143 gr eldx.
