Mainly because it’s one of the most popular calibers right now. Lot of folks buying them with unrealistic expectations. I’ve got a Model Seven chambered in it and It’s a great round for whitetails, but it’s not the 1000 yard magic sniper round a lot of folks make it out to be. Plus there’s a lot of hate out there for it and folks love to make fun of it. They’ll be a few along here shortly.

The 6.5 Creedmoor is a great round for what is was intended for. Target shooting. Does it kill deer? Sure it does but why shoot that when you can shoot a 7mm or .30 caliber round that has more velocity and energy. I have nothing against a Creedmoor just don’t try to push your gay stuff on me!!😆😆

Based on the number of them for sale in the classifieds, it looks like several members here have decided to cut off their man buns, throw away their skinny jeans, burn their flat bill hats and try to do better in 2025. 😁

Just pick the right bullet construction moving at the appropriate speed for said design and stick it in the right spot. Dead deer all day long. Then start comparing trajectories across bullet diameters and there's not a lot of difference in drop/drift that can be accounted for in most hunting situations. But remember, speed kills!

I've got a 6.5CM in a Ruger rifle. It will never be for sale. Most accurate deer rifle I have ever owned. 5 shot 1/2 " groups with every ammo I have tried.Seven shots....seven dead deer.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Mine was 400 and his was 525 yards. I’ve moved on to 142 grain ABLR bullets, though.

Do you get exit wounds with it? Someone I used to know used one for awhile but he and I differ significantly in our ballistics theology. He was shooting a varmint bullet because he likes stuff traveling fast and of course it didn’t exit. He produced a dead deer or two. Neck and shoulder shots. But it seemed like a disaster waiting to happen.

We shoot the 110 I think grain Barnes ttsx thru ours and it always exits

We shoot the 110 I think grain Barnes ttsx thru ours and it always exits I loaded some 120gr Barnes TTSXs to try in my buddy’s Tikka. It didn’t like them. It likes the heavier bullets so we went with the 140 Accubonds. Now my Grendel loves the 120gr TTSXs.

"Just pick the right bullet construction moving at the appropriate speed for said design and stick it in the right spot." This is the most important part right there. Use a Barnes or Nosler Partition or Accubond and the next thing you will need is a sharp knife. We put too much emphasis on cartridges and not enough on shot placement.

It shoots the same weight bullets basically the same speed as a 7mm08 and a lot of folks on this forum consider the 7mm08 the perfect Alabama deer round
We will burn that bridge when we get there
