Had some timber work done this past February which included clear cutting some 22yr old pine. Would like to add a couple new 2 acre plots in these clear cuts & add fire lanes for some future burning as well. How long will it normally take these pine stumps to rot enough to blade em off with a dozier? Also need to terminate a small area of 17 yr old pine that was inaccessible. What is the herbicide of choice for girdling these pines? Thanks for all the info

22yr pine stumps will take several years to rot out. I’d say 3-4. Get an excavator in there if you can.

Triclopyr will work on pines. (Arsenal/imazapyr will not)

Yep. Standard answer on mature pine stumps is 3 years to either disc through them or scrape over with a dozer.

You going to girdle or chemically treat the 17 year old pines? Triclopyr will get it done.

Id planned to double girdle the pines Matt. Didnt realize it would take so long for the stumps to rot. Will probably just Mulch the pine stumps so i can get the plot established sooner. Excavating would prob cost more than id like to spend right now. Thanks for the info gents
