I have a place that I'm the only one who hunts over it for the last 5 years. I have killed one good buck and shot another one but couldn't find it. I only Hunt when the wind is right for my stand north/northeast and I rarely see deer. It has food/ shelter and even two bodies of water less than 200 yards from the green field I planted and surrounded by plenty of pines and a few hardwoods. Not sure what I'm doing wrong Any insight would be great

How many acres? How much hunting around you? I'm guessing around 100 acres and there is another club about a mile from it

It has food/ shelter and even two bodies of water less than 200 yards from the green field I planted and surrounded by plenty of pines and a few hardwoods. Not sure what I'm doing wrong Any insight would be great Is it a high deer density area? Plenty of areas of Alabama and the south in general have very low deer density. You can’t kill deer that don’t exist. 100 acres is a lot of land for one person to own. But not a lot of land to control “pressure”. I’d much rather hunt an area with large tracts around and my own small tract, versus every 40 acre parcel getting hunted. Because when lots of deer get killed, it’s not that deer get shy, it’s that they’re dead. And fewer deer to see. I’m sure “pressure” matters, but deer aren’t geniuses. If you’re not seeing does, you probably have low deer density. “Hunt where the deer are” is the best advice I can give, even if it means changing counties/states.

We don’t use feeders. Scatter it from a seed spreader and the deer you’ll pick up over a feeder is way more. Only exception is from deer raised using feeders.

I put on ground and feeder to help get them used to it
Put cameras in road to see if u only ones hunting it. If you are only giving it a week - thats not long. When deer are there - will they see u leave? If so u prob need to give it 3 weeks I like it when mine get 3-4 weeks. Buck field gettin close to that now and last 2 times i hunted big field they never saw me leave so its like unhunted
Deer always like food on ground bettr - but u prob cant go every 2-3 days to put it out so i do both
Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self We need prayer for our country now more than ever

Every deer on our farm eats from a spin feeder, spikes to 150" deer. They do it daily once they are used to them. If I had to put corn on the ground I would go through 3000#s a week.

feeder has been in the same place for 3 years and every time i put corn in it i sprinkle some out. i have a pic of a buck eating from the spinner as well. Cant use a spreader bc i would have to run through my greenfield to put the corn out. Like someone stated i may just have to move on from the spot but i enjoy it bc i have it to myself.
