Where is the best seafood buffet in Alabama or connecting states plus Louisiana? Must have crabs and crawdads and wonderful desserts. Even if price wasn't a consideration. Like somebody's last meal or something. Doesn't have to be near the coast but preferable. We landed on a review of one in LA. that put a craving on us. Where would you go for a "destination" or bucket list buffet?

"In time of war, send me all the Alabamians you can get, but in time of peace, for Lord's sake, send them to somebody else." General Edward H. Plummer

They’s a pretty good one on the west side of Tupelo Mississippi. I can’t testify on the desserts bc I didn’t make it there… lime was deep into the parking lot at opening time..

None. I’ve never been to a seafood buffet that was worth a crap. Seafood is too expensive.

There are some good AUCE places but I’ve never been to a decent seafood buffet.

And before anyone starts naming the casinos on the MS coast… really? Frozen crap at those.

Spearsville, LA. Middle of no where. You will want to stay in Ruston. La. We referred to it as "Thr Blue Building". Wife is from the area. I lived there for 18 yrs, grew up in South Al. You will not find a better buffet. Look at the menu. Buffet is proabably 60-80 ft long, not counting the dessert bar.

They have a US and World map on the wall ( or at least use to). Someone from every state and nearly every country has made it through there.

Just noticed the requirement for crabs and mud bugs. Above doesn't meet that requirement. But Ponchatoula's or Ben Christmas in Ruston will more than satisfy your crawfish craving.

The imperial Palace in Biloxi used to have an unbelievable buffet which included crab legs, oysters on the half shell, fried soft shell crab and much more. I have no idea if it is still a thing.

Years ago it would have been IP or Treasure Bay in Biloxi. But my experience with seafood buffets is that if they are really good they are unaffordable(like $150+ a person). If they are middling then it’s pricey and things like snow crab disappear as soon as they hit the tray. Then it’s cold boiled shrimp, popcorn shrimp which is just deep fried sea monkeys, maybe some clam strips. If they have bugs they are edible but that’s it. Plenty of places that do better with snow crab as an al a carte option. Plenty of spots cook great crawfish on the coast here, RnR on the causeway, Mudbugs at the Loop and Bozos in Pascagoula are my top picks within my striking distance. Many of these places have combo platters that will fill you up with most of what you’d want on a buffet for $35-50 or so.

years ago it was 88 Chinese buffet in Huntsville. the good ole days when the rat shows were going viral. its still the best Chinese buffet around, but its gone half way down hill. yeah they figured out the completion wasn't too great either, but when the rats in the lights disappeared then the food went downhill too.

I love seafood platters

This is not seafood - but the grand hotel in point clear on Sundays use to be pretty awesome. Big long buffet line for breakfast and it was good. Had the white hat chief also cooking omelets any way u wanted to. Been 8 years are so but at that time it was prob my fav breakfast buffet

Orange beach will hav several places that can do a good seafood platter that will be a lot to ear. Docs can do awesome fried seafood

Is Fantail in Prattville still open? Not that I would rate that as the best but the thread made me think of it and I'm just curious. Since I can't eat shellfish except crawdads I generally avoid seafood buffets, but I know people used to love Fantail bigly. Me, not so much.

Not a buffet since Covid.

Only seafood buffet I've ever had that was halfway decent was in Orlando. All you can eat lobster and it was $25 even in the mid nineties. . Can't remember the name and I don't know if it still exists.

Go to a casino and you can't ever get king crab legs. There's always a 400 lb Norwegian who piles them all on their plate as soon as they put them out.

Boston Lobster Feast in Orlando. I ate ten lobsters and skipped everything else on the buffet.

When I was stationed in Virginia, they had Captain George's. A Real Seafood Buffet with everything. Now this was back in the late 80's, so.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.
