I remember when I was a kid maybe 8 year old range. I was climbing up a tree and was coming down it. My dad had an ax at the bottom of the tree. It laid the side of my foot open. Kerosene was the answer. Another time maybe 12 years old I was running a garden tiller bare footed. I stepped on a nail about the size of a number 2 pencil. It was actually making a knot on top of my foot just not coming through. Dad yanked it and the answer was kerosene once again. It was amazing how people survived without insurance and no money.
