Was getting pics of deer in the mornings and afternoons. A bunch of pics all night, every night. When the rut started, I'm getting very few pics of does and no bucks! I can understand the bucks are chasing, but what happened to all the does? They have just about stopped coming to my feeders at all.

From my experience, does get tired of getting harassed at feeding sites during rut and tend to hide out in thicker cover more.

Same experience with me, about this time does seem to quit going to the greenfield as much. Many hitting the leftover oaks?

For the past few days my pic volume is way down in N Perry Co, even with the weather change. I have a does slipping into feeders earlier and less frequently. Buck pics on trails and plots are all moving. You’re not alone.

I know during the peak of the rut the doe groups get pretty busted up because you have lots of individual does getting harassed or off in a thicket somewhere with a buck……I was tracking a buck a few weeks ago through a duck swamp in an area where the rut was occurring and as we were wading along the hunter said….”Hey there’s a deer laying on it’s belly right there in them palmettos 30 yards from us!”…..It wasn’t our buck though…..We’re pretty sure it was the doe the buck they shot was dogging earlier that morning and she was out in the swamp on a high spot trying to hide…..She let us walk right by her

I think it happens to everyone's deer. I know it happens to us most years

We will burn that bridge when we get there

That’s totally normal. They do it every year.

Been doing the same for me. Some nights I have 3-4 does, other nights 10-12. Mostly night

If youre expecting to kill a deer because you know what your deer were doing two weeks ago, that plan wont work. You better know what they did on this week last year. Thats free advice there

Need to get away from feed sites and hunt in the thick cover. Hunt the feed sites post rut when the bucks are trying to get a boost of energy to find the last available does. Right now my places have done the same thing. You get out in the woods and see deer all day cruising or chasing and won’t see hardly nothing around the feed troughs.

And good advice it is. You have to hunt ahead of them , not behind them.
