I think the only time our does abandon our fawns is when they are actively being chased and maybe if the fawns come into heat late in the season

I think the only time our does abandon our fawns is when they are actively being chased and maybe if the fawns come into heat late in the season This. Fawns are with the doe except in times of her estrous cycle, and they’ll be near then as well. Often times I know it’s peak breeding when fields fill up with fawns and very few does. Some times you won’t observe this, but it’s still occurring. The rut happens the same exact time in the same locations annually, regardless of what we see.
