What does it tell me, if anything that the does on our lease are still lugging their fawns around with them. I’m in Morgan County, near Eva. I have zero history of this area and don’t know a thing about when these deer rut other than what a rut map tells me. Anyone care to shed some light?

I think the only time our does abandon our fawns is when they are actively being chased and maybe if the fawns come into heat late in the season

We will burn that bridge when we get there

This. Fawns are with the doe except in times of her estrous cycle, and they’ll be near then as well. Often times I know it’s peak breeding when fields fill up with fawns and very few does. Some times you won’t observe this, but it’s still occurring. The rut happens the same exact time in the same locations annually, regardless of what we see.

I’d imagine in Morgan co your rut is long since passed.
