That's awesome that you were involved in some discussion on this. What were your reasons for saying no? I assume mostly the factors laid out by others on here? Btw, I enjoy your podcast a great deal, even as someone without a ton of experience.

The area being looked at was Bankhead.

Three reasons:
1. Our culture is not ready for a large ungulate weighing several lbs that herds and travels in groups.
2. The Bankhead forest, and especially the Wilderness Area supports a low deer density due to the way the forest is managed. It is not capable of providing for animals that consume what they require.
3. The human conflict dimension would be astronomical in the adjacent TN River Valley.

Without expounding, that’s it in a nutshell shell.
