somebody has to, its a tradition. I dont know the price of hookers and blow but I dont think 4k is going to get very far. However, with a nice gun and you can shoot a drug dealer and have all the drugs and hookers you want.

It's my understanding that grandaddy was a ladies man, but not aware he ever dabbled in the the hard stuff. Hard pass on that suggestion though- might be fun in the moment, but sounds like a recipe to contract the sort of "lifetime gift" I'd rather not hang on to. LoL.

How many kids you got? If you don’t need it, a couple grand each in a Roth would be an honorable use of Grandaddy’s money. You can open a custodial account and manage it on their behalf until they reach the age of majority. You could add to the accounts along the way as well. In 50 years, especially if you’ll teach them to add to it, Grandaddy’s seed money will have grown into something nice for them.

When my Mom passed I took some of the money she left me and bought a beautiful browning safe....I know she always wanted for me to have a really nice one but I wouldnt spend the money....So, now, I catch myself looking at it sometimes, and I often think of her.... smile She could always make me smile I sure do miss her...Just a suggestion...

If I didn't have something that I thought my kid/s would want when I am gone, I would invest in something to hand down to each kid.

When my parents passed I took the money they left me and paid off of my house . I felt like I needed to do something they would approve of . My brother spent all his money on weed? Do what you think is best for you .

I always wanted to go on a paid deer hunt. A fancy place. Mom has always told me when she dies she wants me to take some of what she leaves me and to do it. I say okay, just to appease her. The older I get though, as much as I’d still like to go, I can’t stand the thought of doing something without my wife and kids.

I would definitely do something along these lines. $4,000 earning 10% from age 10 to 59 would be around $512,000. If you buy a gun something like that, just understand the long term cost. I can’t think of a better option.

The old saying "you can't take it with you" is true. Buy something nice for you. Or buy/invest for someone else.
