As much as I hate to say it. Property tax is the only thing keeping Florida from becoming a giant slab of concrete.

I’m more for a low national consumption tax and abolishing the income tax. Our current tax system punishes the successful and rewards those who produce nothing of value. No child credit, no loop holes, just tax me on what I spend my money on. And if I live below my means, then I don’t pay a lot in taxes. If I decide to buy a yacht, then I decided to pay more in taxes. Either way, it’s my money, not theirs then mine after they get their cut.

You do know the founding fathers talked about and almost put in the constitution that under no circumstances could the government total more than 10 percent in taxes. The reason they didn't, is they said if they put that in there the government would rapidly go to 10 percent, and there was no sense in it because if the government ever went more than that the people would rise up and over throw them.

So much for this proposed bill.
This proposed bill switches everything over to a national sales tax of 23%! That would be on top of our 10-11.5% that we already pay here. Phuck that plan. I just bought a $6000 shed, after tax $6600, 23% would also be about $1500 extra. So despite the savings on the income tax, this deal overall is worse.

I like the sells tax idea, but 23% is steep. Back when it was first proposed, it was going to do away with all state and local sells taxes. One federal sells tax, distributed down to the municipalities. That plan was a good plan, with one simple flaw.

It would give the Feds the purse strings to control states and local government. I'll never be ok with that. It needs limited to the extreme.

I think most people would be shocked to know what the federal government pays for. I wouldn’t think an affordable sales tax would suffice.

I believe real estate prices in and of themself would solve that issue.

It would be plenty if government representatives weren't padding their pockets and trying to redistribute wealth. The amount of wasteful spending is insane and unsustainable.

I’d bet more than half collected goes to pork projects
Maybe 70-80% wasted if you count over bloated military projects that are padded

I would bet 50% of tax money gets stolen or wasted.

At my age two is enough. And when when momma says come here I get scared. God to be 20 years old.

I'd bet over 80% is unnecessary if government would stay in their lane. Government should never be the biggest employer.
