What you eat is probably more important than taking a statin imo

My cardiologist told me the last time I saw her to keep more good work my numbers from me were awesome. Told her I guess I shouldn’t mention my bacon snacking. She asked how much and I said two packs a week. Yup she she said, I didn’t want to hear that.

This^^^^. And the kickbacks can increase depending upon preferred/brand/manufacturer.

I truly believe this. Plus the vast majority of research that says statins are beneficial are done or funded by the pharmaceutical companies which does not even seem right to me. And I don't know if it's true or not but I've seen where they provide a lot of funding to medical schools, so they may educate Dr.s on the benefits of statins and get Dr.s to push them.

Stains are linked to type 3 diabetes or alzheimer's. Studies show a link between earlier onset of Parkinson's Disease. People with high levels of LDL live as long OR LONGER than those with what is now considered normal levels.

If you are worried about your cholesterol and don't want to take a statin, cut out sugar and seed oils. Severely limit your carb intake.

There are also supplements that are beneficial.

In the end, you have to make a decision that you can mentally and hopefully physically live with.

A high fiber diet or taking fiber like Metamucil will do just a much for helping your cholesterol numbers as the statins.

Because it's illegal. They aren't crooked, just mostly incompetent.
