Had a rough opening weekend. Seen plenty of deer and shot a nice buck but never found him after jumping him from his 1st bed. Had a really good dog come out and he never hit on anything. No idea what happened. We really need to shoot does so me and the little man gonna get after them pretty good going forward. Good job on the kills guys.

I’m trying to upgrade. Just hasn’t been working out

Me and my youngin was on doe patrol this weekend and didn’t see anything but yearlings small bucks and hogs. We are gonna try again this weekend. It’s gonna be hard for me to upgrade in Alabama but I am going back to Texas in a couple of weeks so maybe I can do something more there.

I killed a big eight point this afternoon as soon as the weather broke off my place. He’s not an upgrade but he’s damn nice. I’ve been hunting him for a few years now and finally closed the deal on him. He’s a 6 year old big heavy eight. On to killing does now. I’m hoping to get my youngin on a nice buck now as well. My wife maybe pissed at me because she shucks this deer opening weekend and grazed it and I had to go finish the deal for her. I told her she can pretend she shot him when he’s hanging on the living room wall

She cut hair in his chest and brisket area. Had a little bit of blood and nothing else. He was back on camera later that night on the other side of my property with what looked like dried blood on his chest

Well boys it’s looking like I might make another run back to Texas this weekend. Hope yall can have some luck. It’s starting to get good in the areas I hunt in Alabama. I really hate to go and wanna be hunting here but I can’t pass up the opportunity. When I get back I’m gonna be hard on doe patrol.

Almost upgraded my buck Tuesday, but I couldn’t get a clear shot. Had my crossbow. If I had a rifle with me, I’d have popped him before he got within bow range. Is what it is.
