Well its to keep the folks who will bend the rules a little more honest……Its so that the guy who is loading up his second buck of the day thinks twice about it before heading back to camp with it in his buggy unchecked…..Most hunters arent the least bit concerned about it right now. A big reason for a lot of that is because the chances of running into GW are slim to none

That’s wrong, I grew up and hunted with one of our areas deadliest poachers. He knew they were trying to catch him, he turned her up a notch and kept on clicking.. they’d ride by his house often and regular

I guess you could compare this to speeding……If there were never any police officers setup on the highways giving tickets……How fast do you think all the “honest” motorists would eventually be driving??.....Its about the same with shooting over the limit…… I mean I really dont care what folks do but if we're talking about overharvesting bucks now and quality diminishing, etc, etc......this is definitely a hole in the bucket....probably a pretty sizeable one

We don’t actually have any enforced rules in Alabama on deer bag limits and we just unleashed a baiting free for all onto the landscape to go along with that…….When folks start questioning and wondering “what happened” then that’s ^^^ your answer……Folks can nitpick about the details but it is what it is

I've never understood why you couldn't kill all 3 of your bucks in the same day I don't really turkey hunt but I know theres a limit of like 3-5 a season. Seems like it wouldn't matter if you killed them all in one day or spread out over three months

We will burn that bridge when we get there

Making it one per day is just another small way of impacting how many total get killed…..The idea being that some of those second or third “tags” being filled in a single day might not get filled if the hunter has to wait until tomorrow to fill each one…..It matters the most during the rut when half the bucks that will be killed will be shot in a matter of about 15-20 days

I could hav easily killed 3 in one hunt last year. One was 20 yards out in front of me gobbling and had a huge hook while a 2 year old was laying in field dead. The other 2 year old and stud just stood out in front of me! Called long hooks in 2 more times that week and never closed the deal. He went to my neighbors Beautiful hardwoods as they always do! Lucky i had them a week!

I know some in my church that kill over the limit on turkeys! It bothers me! Just obey dang law! I think it happens more with turkey

Just obey the law! If not in my church i might would turn in - but prob not! Prob should

Fred was a gamewarden - ask him what they do! Imagine they stay busy!

Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self

As much as I hunt, I haven't been checked by a game warden in over 40 years. I have been checked dozens of times while fishing.

What's irritating is getting checked more than once in a day, or multiple days in a row by the same guy. Had one in Kentucky one time checked me 3 days in a row. He made me dig out my license and registration while it was raining, even though he had done a full check both of the previous days.

Just like cops, there are some good ones, and some that are complete rectal orifices.

I get checked a lot fishing. Never know issues. I see them coming. Open storage compartments. Have license read. They never check the live well. Now they light up the wake boats on the river.

They are severely understaffed and the wardens that are active are covering multiple counties in some cases. They have checked us several times over the years and it was usually cordial and we always tell them to stop by if someone is at the camp. I have had to call them twice over the years, one to catch duck hunters shooting after hours every weekend and the other to report a night hunting problem. In both instances they caught both groups and in the case of the night hunting problem, they caught multiple groups. In both cases, I found that other landowners & hunters in the area had also reported the problem.

One morning about 20 years ago, I had one walk up on me one morning while I was hunting. Big black warden in Barbour County named Aurora(?). I was watching a deer and not paying attention to my the area behind me. He walked up to about 20 yards before he announced his presence. Big man could walk like a ghost.

In another state I was checked several times deer hunting mostly.
I would squirrel hunt a WMA after all of the deer hunts were over, and the game warden kept checking that I wasn't really deer hunting.
In Alabama this year, GW just verified that I had checked into the the WMA.
All of my interactions were professional.
I try to follow all of the rules.

Yeah, a lot harder to kill 3 on different days than to kill three standing together. Honestly, I’m glad it’s only one a day. Helps protect the resource.

Had very few encounters with game wardens. Only one that stand out was around 1999 or so on Cahaba WMA. Was turkey hunting opening day and had a couple meet me and my friend at the truck. I handed him my mountain of permits you have to have to hunt and he proceeds to tell me he can give me a ticket for forgetting to sign my map permit. Kind of pissed me off and said well if you have a pen on you I’ll sign it right now. He could have just said hey, sign your permit before you hunt again. All that said I respect them and the job they have to do, am I’m glad they are out there doing their job.
