Killed dozens of deer with Hornady Interlock bullets. Never an issue.

I’ve had the Hornady interlocks “bounce around” inside deer after entry and exit substantially back and a long way from a straight pass-through shot. I switched to Federal Fusion bonded bullets and have never experienced the same issue since I made the switch.

I had the American whitetail do that in a 7mag and 3030. Just thru and thru entrance and exit the same size hole. I think the bullet was shedding its jacket on impact
We will burn that bridge when we get there

Shoot terminal ascents with the creed. I don’t personally shoot them but know people who swear by those bullets. Barnes are great too

I had to move on from Hornady myself.
I did too. Had been shooting them for years.

I stopped shooting SST' after making making good shots and deer running off and leaving no blood trail. They don't leave exit wounds. Gut deer and inside is destroyed. MY experience with SST as well. Actually recovered the jacket and core that had separated inside the deer. Deer died no problem. Only went about 30-50 yards, but which direction in thick pines?? Stumbled on him
