Well. I asked a couple weeks ago or longer about creedmore bullets. We won a gun last year and they come with whitetail hornady interlocks 129gr.
Shot a deer last year with them at 325 yards. It was a little forward shot and didn’t like what the bullet did but I got the deer. I took it as a bad shot.
My son shot one last night. First deer actually but that’s another story.
Shot at broadside at 80 yards facing right. He shot and deer stumbled fell got up and ran about 50 yards and fell and got back up. Facing other direction put another shell in him. So shot on two different sides. The side he shot and the exit of the second shot were about two inches apart on the hide. One exit one entry. Shoulder shot but did not hit any bone. Well. The second shot was a through and through. Just what you would expect. Nice exit and everything. The entry of the of the first shot hit and as soon as it hit. It took a hard left to the opposite side very last rib.
Just would not of expected the bullet to not go at least straight if it didn’t hit bone. Surely the shoulder plate didn’t make the bullet do what it did.
The first shot was lethal but just didn’t work as I though or have seen bullets in the past.
For sure changing bullets though. Haven’t liked what 2/3 projectiles have done but not used to the “smaller” calibers.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

My phone screen does not always work right, usually a lot of misspelled words....

Killed dozens of deer with Hornady Interlock bullets. Never an issue.

I’ve had the Hornady interlocks “bounce around” inside deer after entry and exit substantially back and a long way from a straight pass-through shot. I switched to Federal Fusion bonded bullets and have never experienced the same issue since I made the switch.

I had the American whitetail do that in a 7mag and 3030. Just thru and thru entrance and exit the same size hole. I think the bullet was shedding its jacket on impact

We will burn that bridge when we get there

It wasn’t the bullets fault. Just ask Goatkiller, he’ll tell you.

I stopped shooting SST' after making making good shots and deer running off and leaving no blood trail. They don't leave exit wounds. Gut deer and inside is destroyed.

They are a good bullet for what they are. Like any traditional cup and core bullet if the impact velocity is too high they will come apart, too low and poor expansion. In the sweet spot, they do good.

MY experience with SST as well. Actually recovered the jacket and core that had separated inside the deer. Deer died no problem. Only went about 30-50 yards, but which direction in thick pines?? Stumbled on him
