Look at the picture above.

Questions?

If you don't want to worry about performance don't worry about it. Just shoot old school stuff and dismiss all the gimmicks. What worked form the late 1800's until the internet came around still works today. Most of this stuff is marketing and trying to sell somebody something they don't need coupled with a lack of understanding of ballistics. What worked in 1965 works today and apparently much better.

I will end with this.... if you don't think there is more killing power in the .35 Whelen than in a 6.5 Needmoor you are an idot. You may not need it to kill your 125lb spike... but C'Mon Man! Really?

Go shoot a deer with a .35 Whelen with regular cup and core bullets, then go shoot one with a 130 grain TMK in a 6.5 and report back the difference of the insides. Better yet, compare the 35 to a 223 with a 77 grain TMK. We’ll wait for your report.

Well, I love my magic bullets. Will other types kill deer? Absolutely. I just know what I reload has been accurate in my guns and perform well on game, so no need to switch

Goatkiller . I killed a lot of deer with those old Winchester and Federal soft points in several different guns .Over all the years I have two recovered bullets . A 270 Winchester 130 sp where I took a bad angle shot and found the bullet in the neck . Hornady custom 154 7mag interlock from a big male hog I killed . It stop next to the hide on the other shoulder.

I have used some of the more premium ammo but I don't see enough advantage to justify the extra cost . Course my goal was never a bang flop just a dead deer .
