Great idea.

People who shoot over the bag limit ARE poachers……Those deer are just as illegal as the ones that get shot at night and count just the same….

I cannot even shoot one buck off each of the properties I hunt without going over the yearly limit. A deer I kill in one county has no impact whatsoever to my neighbors of another property two counties over. Never has never will. The buck limit needs to go unless we want to go with a system like the one I laid out. And no one wants to do that. Not even you. Of course it will not matter to a non hunter like yourself anyway.

The total number of bucks killed in an area matters…….Your 4th buck counts as one more just the same as any other……If someone joins a club and then picks up an additional 15 acre property somewhere…..do they get to use the club to fill their three and then the small property for bonus bucks??....Those bonus bucks add up and matter to the folks in that area the same way your “one more” does....Totals matter

A buck killed in Greene county will not change the number of deer in Perry county. Deer do not travel that far. So no. Totals do not matter

Me too.just what I do now. I never use the game check or what ever . Sure as hell not gonna use a tag . I hunt next to my house an just drag them home an process them. I only eat a couple a yr . But if I eat 10 a year I would kill 10. 2 all i need . We are regulated to death in just about every form of our lives . Hunting is not gonna be one for me .

No. We do away with it. Or if y’all want to insist on managing everyone’s property for them I laid out a plan for a tag system to do that above.

I guess the difference in our view boils down to this. You want to keep the little man from killing more than what the property they have can support. I want people that have the resources to be able to use them as they see fit.
Let’s say you had 10,000 acres all to yourself. That is not that far fetched. There are properties all over just like that. But according to the game laws you can still only take three deer off of it.

The system we have now is too easy to beat…..Its not even keeping the honest folks honest……Wrapping that bright green tag around its rack…..or not…..is very, very noticeable to everyone……Its not something out of sight, out of mind like game check…….Hunters need three non-resuable bright green tags with their info on it to wrap around the deer’s rack as soon as they recover it……and those who don’t tag it and deer that arent tagged will stick out like a sore thumb……It will help keep the honest guys honest and that’s who is shooting the most “illegal” deer right now. This is just paying the piper for getting to bait…….

Most of the time An illegal kill only travels from the back of a truck / ATV to the camp / house so what good is a green tag gonna do during the same transit?

That’s pretty funny considering I know multiple people who kill 5-10 bucks a year and take all to the processor. There’s plenty of processors that dont care what you have it sent in as they just want the money.

Well it does affect me……When there is no quality to be shot at then there is no quality to be tracked…..

So does this mean you are more concerned about YOUR bottom line than any game enforcement law changes?

No

Sure seems to be.....So are we killing too many deer today, or not enough? Would more or less be killed if tags were required? Do we need to shoot more bucks and save the does or kill more does and save all the young bucks in order to have more older bucks which will mean more tracking calls?
