So the limited number of Mr Green Jeans will be spending more time checking for tags instead of catching poachers, trespasser and outlaws.
Great idea.
People who shoot over the bag limit ARE poachers……Those deer are just as illegal as the ones that get shot at night and count just the same…. I cannot even shoot one buck off each of the properties I hunt without going over the yearly limit. A deer I kill in one county has no impact whatsoever to my neighbors of another property two counties over. Never has never will. The buck limit needs to go unless we want to go with a system like the one I laid out. And no one wants to do that. Not even you. Of course it will not matter to a non hunter like yourself anyway. The total number of bucks killed in an area matters…….Your 4th buck counts as one more just the same as any other……If someone joins a club and then picks up an additional 15 acre property somewhere…..do they get to use the club to fill their three and then the small property for bonus bucks??....Those bonus bucks add up and matter to the folks in that area the same way your “one more” does....Totals matter A buck killed in Greene county will not change the number of deer in Perry county. Deer do not travel that far. So no. Totals do not matter

A buck killed in Greene county will not change the number of deer in Perry county. You’re correct…..it changes the total killed in Greene Co

I'm old enough to remember what it was like to "just go hunting". Why people think jumping through all these hoops is better is beyond me. Me too.just what I do now. I never use the game check or what ever . Sure as hell not gonna use a tag . I hunt next to my house an just drag them home an process them. I only eat a couple a yr . But if I eat 10 a year I would kill 10. 2 all i need . We are regulated to death in just about every form of our lives . Hunting is not gonna be one for me .

is the game check system they have now not the same concept as a tag system? other than a physical tag on the deer i see a tag system accomplishing nothing more than the current game check system.. both systems make the hunters purchase the license but outlaws will always be outlaws The system we have now is too easy to beat…..Its not even keeping the honest folks honest……Wrapping that bright green tag around its rack…..or not…..is very, very noticeable to everyone……Its not something out of sight, out of mind like game check…….Hunters need three non-resuable bright green tags with their info on it to wrap around the deer’s rack as soon as they recover it……and those who don’t tag it and deer that arent tagged will stick out like a sore thumb……It will help keep the honest guys honest and that’s who is shooting the most “illegal” deer right now. This is just paying the piper for getting to bait……. Most of the time An illegal kill only travels from the back of a truck / ATV to the camp / house so what good is a green tag gonna do during the same transit? That’s pretty funny considering I know multiple people who kill 5-10 bucks a year and take all to the processor. There’s plenty of processors that dont care what you have it sent in as they just want the money.

I guess the difference in our view boils down to this. You want to keep the little man from killing more than what the property they have can support. I want people that have the resources to be able to use them as they see fit. Let’s say you had 10,000 acres all to yourself. That is not that far fetched. There are properties all over just like that. But according to the game laws you can still only take three deer off of it. 3 deer?😂😂 3 bucks yes but a doe a day or if on dmap whatever they say.

If you do not hunt quit worrying about the regs. There. Fixed. Well it does affect me……When there is no quality to be shot at then there is no quality to be tracked….. So does this mean you are more concerned about YOUR bottom line than any game enforcement law changes? No Sure seems to be.....So are we killing too many deer today, or not enough? Would more or less be killed if tags were required? Do we need to shoot more bucks and save the does or kill more does and save all the young bucks in order to have more older bucks which will mean more tracking calls?

Nothing you’ll ever do about button bucks. People who are careful can still accidentally shoot one. That’s a non-fixable issue.

So does this mean you are more concerned about YOUR bottom line than any game enforcement law changes? No Sure seems to be..... How’s that any different than what everyone else is doing??.....The guys who want to shoot as many bucks as they please are only concerned about their own self-interest…..What about the guys profiting from corn…..do you think they are concerned about how its impacting the deer herd?…..Why should I not support things that I profit from?? Heck, at least my interests align with what the biologists suggest is best for the deer herd in having age structure.
