Was looking for a new utility trailer and Big Tex looks like a top notch product but they are expensive. Anybody have one? Is it work the extra coin?

Kaufman looks like a quality trailer. I like the ATV strap tie downs along the side.

I just bought a 16ft deckover from Lone wolf. I was very happy with the price and the trailer is built very good. I had been pricing them on FB marketplace, they were so high used that i never even called to see what a new one would cost. I was surprised, when i finally priced a new one, it was cheaper than what i had seen some of the used ones going for. They built it just like i wanted it in about 3 weeks.

Lonewolf or Lawrimore and save yourself some decent money compared to Big Tex

I don’t think of Big Tex as top notch at all, from my own experience.

They are well engineered to be built with the minimal amount of material, and therefore built cheaply. Weld quality is average to below average, with a few failures.

Someone had an issues with a trailer on here a few years back. Not sure if it was this Brand. Might've been johndeere5036 but can't remember 🤪

I bought a lonewolf in Falkville years ago to haul my 4 wheeler back and forth to the farm. I payed $700 back then. Good trailer no problems. They are pricey now.

I have a 20’ 14k pound that’s a great trailer. Had to put a floor on it last year. I highly recommend big Tex trailers.

I have one, it's the best heavy duty trailer I've ever owned. I went to the factory in Cordele, Ga. and bought it direct from Big Tex. Well worth the money IMO.

They are good trailers. Don’t overlook PJ, Gator or Starlite

I have big Tex, lone wolf, and Larimore. Can’t say anything bad about any of them. My opinion is to spend the money and get a 14ft tandem with tube steel. Little heavy but can handle a lot and hold up a lot longer.

I bought my dump trailer from Rogers welding in Huntsville. They built it like i wanted it. Descent material, not great but the welding was pitiful. My uncle is a jamup welder. He fixed and rewelded quite a bit of it. I called them for a price on a 16ft deckover, they said $6000. Lonewolf built it for $1000 cheaper. Lonewolf did a much much better job and much better material. No comparison. Ive had no experience with the rest of them mentioned. But there is certainly a difference in who builds your trailer

If you end up needing a heavy duty trailer, make the drive to Kauffman. You’ll save A LOT of money and they build a damn good trailer.

I have a Big Tex gooseneck and a 18’ 70PI tandem axle utility trailer. I bought the gooseneck used but bought the 70PI new. I did go through the bearings and they were pretty dry. Their “setup” consisted of the mechanic hitting the lug nuts with an impact and a torque stick.

Definitely shop around for prices and features but remember there are bad reviews with every manufacturer on the internet.

I have a 12 foot single axle Big Tex. It’s ok. Had to have it rewired a few years ago and weld failed on one side of ramp gate wire. They’re not bad but I think there are others like Kaufman that are better

Yes that was me. It was a circle w trailer that I had custom built and it was junk. Kaufman to me and top hat makes good trailers. I’ve heard bad things about the big Tex trailers and several people I know got rid of them very quick because they were raggedy. Just my opinion though

Where is Kaufman located? I’m fact finding for something to haul my tractor with. My 2018 Lawrimore utility trailer has been good to me. When it needed its deck replaced they did it for a fair price.
