We still have several coveys on my place and I burn and try to improve the habitat but doubt I will ever have a truly huntable population. Quail in Alabama have a whole lot of things working against them.

There’s more quail in areas with better habitat. There’s plenty of predators in TX and every other state they are thriving in.

It wasn't nearly as good as the outfitter said it would be, but we killed a few. All the labor of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled.
