OK, I'll give the update on his health since we know it was a cable breaking when he turned around preparing to climb down. This happened between the time he unhooked his harness and before he hooked to the lifeline. The amazing thing is how someone that might weigh 150 lbs soaking wet can snap cables.
He was doing well enough to tell people what happened. He has a broken neck and broken back but neither are affecting the spinal cord so he should regain use of his limbs. He has several broken ribs, broken sternum, broken wrist and a brain bleed that is controlled at this time. When they are absolutely positive it is under control they will do surgery to stabilize all the broken parts.
Knowing JR, I'm sure he is laying there lamenting turkey season but making a plan for next Oct. 15.. Continued prayers please, especially his wife Krystal who will have to tolerate him at home during turkey season.

According to Krystal they are going to start what looks to be several surgeries in the morning so he is really making positive improvement.
