I saw where AUM is having their alumni celebration in a few weeks. Remembering the 80s is the theme. I graduated HS in ‘84 and from AUM in ‘88. Was a great time to be alive. Y’all post up some 80s pics. I wish I had some hunting pics from then but I don’t.

Yep went to Jr High in Caledonia MS back in 1979. That was the attire for coaches, and they were good at swinging that paddle!

Ridge did you ever run in Maplesville? I used to to run enduros there.

Oh yeah. I was 15 years old on a clapped out 77 CR125 my first race at Maplesville. We rode enduros, hare scrambles and motocross in addition to a lot of play riding.

One time at Maplesville we went with some other local riders and camped. They were good folks (one of them lives right down the road from us today). I remember that night I stated that since I didn't have any roll chart to keep time I'd just ride with them. I was told, "boy, if you're gonna ride with me tomorrow you better be on your game". LOL. They locked handlebars about 300 yards from the start and I didn't see them again until I had waited at the first reset for about 10 minutes. grin BTW, the fellow that told me that later rode AA class.

Do you have any pics? I'm sooo glad the Cycle News photog shot all those 8x10 glossies back in the day.

I leave the strip joint and go to work making $20,000 parts for aircraft engine. Damn Sammy's was a good place lol.

The 90’s was the time for me and bikes . I raced harescrambles an enduros for years back then Still do a few in old man’s class . I’ve always rode red . Had many CR’’s over the years . Got a 2004 cr250 now that I restored last year .i went to the first 24hr race at maplesville had maybe 20 years ago . Been to a few since an to the gobble getter enduro couple times . Best times I ever had was at the races . Made some life long friends doing that . Mostly the midsouth harescrambles series based out of tn.

Very cool. Love the Hondas!

My CR250s were blazing fast. The last CR I had (other bikes came along later) was an 85 model. It was a riot. We'd play ride behind the old Jasper airport on occasion. I can remember riding wheelies half the length of the main runway and laying it over and turning 90 degrees onto the grass strip, never setting the front wheel down. Fun times!

Found myself looking at a CRF450RL dualie today...
