Moving to Daphne sometime next year when the house is built, and I need somewhere closer to the house for day hunts. With young kids, my weekend trips are limited.

No need for a trophy club, just somewhere I can see deer most hunts. Also looking for somewhere kid friendly as my son is 5 and he’s wanting to shoot a deer this calendar year.

I know there is sometimes a stigma here with Southside, but it would fit your criteria perfectly. Lots of deer, and folks don't have problems seeing them often.

You can be signed in on the 59 end from Daphne in about 30 minutes, give or take.

I second this, although don't expect to Turkey Hunt.

Who retains the turkey rights?

The club does but only a select few get to turkey hunt. I am not sure how the ones that get to turkey hunt are selected. That is the way it was several years back when I was in Southside for 1 hunting season. When Container Corporation owned the land for several decades there was no legal turkey hunting allowed on the property which is well over 10,000 acres. That place used to overloaded with turkeys. Not sure about turkey population nowadays.

I was told that they only allow 15 turkey hunting memberships. Tons of turkeys, but like said above, it's very hard to get a turkey membership.

Southside has about 9500 acres. 10-11 miles from Lottie gate to 59 gate.

Few years ago I was in a club called Majors Creek hunting club in Stockton. Look them up on Facebook. They were family friendly and I always saw lots of deer.

PM me what you’re looking to spend. Hunting a 1000 acres in Elberta with just 3 guys. Sportsman condo on all fields and feeders. Maybe looking for one more for next year. But isn’t cheap.

I grew up swimming in Majors Creek.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I apologize, I haven't been on since I replied to your post. I see that it's already been answered though. It was the first 20 original members that were allowed to turkey hunt when I was there. It may be down to 15 now that idk. Lot of land, lot of turkeys for just so few to be able to hunt.
