I never use one. I do wear orange. You can see orange at dusk a lot better than you think. But use whatever makes you feel safe. I don’t use neither turkey hunting but that’s a little different with shotguns. I hope someone don’t think I’m a gobbler that’s pitched down at daylight at 40 yards lol

Areas with Hog and opportunistic hunters are the most dangerous at twilight.

FYI - my manufacturing company for that price is Custom Ink - retail, and it will still sell for $4.50 everywhere. And I am still +2$ and their worst price. Ya'll know I am right.
A better light for cheaper and the same print job is banker money. And I am giving it to ya'll.

When I hunted public deer exclusively, and before headlamps were cheap and common, I kept a jogger's red flashing light clipped on my pack. I turned it off and removed my orange once I got up the tree.

I have a blaze orange mesh vest in my turkey pouch. It goes over the bird should I get one.

I always have mine on... day light or low light or dark thirty,,, I also wear a head band light and keep a hand held in my jacket pocket.... once in an elevate stand elevated at least 12 ft or in shooting house I'll take it off.... if your 20ft or closer from your vehicle to your box blind or tree stand you don't have to have it on....

I would be cautious about wearing small red light. Someone might think it is a deer's eyes and start shooting. Yes, I am aware that a deer's eyes do not glow without shining a light on them, but there are people out there...

I think the point trying to be made and some are missing is safety is rule #1. Spooking a deer or having someone seeing where you were hunting is not worth your life. You have family that love you and need you. Turn that flashlight on and make sure anyone within shooting distance knows that's a human being going in or coming out of the woods. And for those that don't know, a deer can see in the dark, so you really aren't going Ninji on him by not using a flashlight. laugh

After the guy in Macon County was walking out of the woods with his young son at dark and another hunter shot his son claiming he thought he was a coyote my son and I would always walk out with flashlights and talking so that there was no mistake we were humans.

Club over has a fella we call Sunny cause he's probably spent $3500.00 on Surefire gear but you know when he's leaving the woods. I use a Surefire Gx and it's fine on low for my semiblind decrepit to see. Also have a Streamlight protac just cause.

I never use a light going in early or leaving late. I don’t want deer to see it. I don’t want anybody to know where I am either. If I get shot by someone they’re trespassing and I guess it was just meant to be. Nobody is going to see me where I hunt, or they shouldn’t. If they do they shouldn’t be there.

What’s crazy is game wardens sneak around in the woods all day wearing green and don’t have to wear orange.

If the safety issue was so important to write a law for us to wear it, why don’t the game wardens?
