Got smoked by one in New Market tonight. Hard track to get lined out. Finally jumped him about 600 yards from the shot site. Lost signal to Muzz they got gone so fast. Finally drove around and picked up his collar enough to cut him off and call it. No blood or anything. Shot with a 300 blackout and waited 6hrs to start the track. Doesn't seem hurt either way. Loosing signal with the Garmin seems to be more regular here lately. I had problems twice last week with newer collar. How far out are you losing signal??.....Are you using the short or long antenna?

One night was only about 150 yds, it kept temporarily losing signal. The other night he was about 350 yds away. Long antenna. This was on the TT25 collar. I have had no problems with my TT15.

The only time I've ever had any issues is in real thick stands of young pines where you're in under a lot of pine limbs close to the ground.....Pretty sure I'm using both

Back during the summer time I got my boy a cur pup for his bday. We have been working with him pretty regular on some tracks.
I cut the feet off of a deer my dad shot that ran a long way and to train the pup, I zip tie the feet to a broomstick and walk through the woods sticking it down in the ground every so often.
Last weekend, I sent him on his very first track. Just a little ole doe shot on our farm that ran off through the swamp. Totally blind, I just took him to the hit sight and said "Find him Chief". He stuck his nose to the ground and led me right to her. Not a drop of blood anywhere to be found. Wasn't a very far track, probably only about 80 yard but I was very proud of him. He is only 7 months old. Hoping to build on that.

Was only out 1.2 miles on flat ground. I've never had that problem before unless they got on the other side of a mountain

Just got 3 calls all within 10 minutes and all from people less than 15 minutes from each other. Funny how that works

Funny how that works I got a call one time for the neighbor to the land I was currently on......All I had to do was pull out of the end of the driveway and go down the street about 1/2 mile......Be nice if they were all like that..... I'm headed out here soon to meet some folks to try and find one that was shot at facing the hunter yesterday evening.....They say they've got a decent amount of blood......We'll see how it goes......

We were able to recover the track from yesterday evening……He was still alive 23 hrs later but bad crippled up and weak…..We jumped him at the 900 yard mark and he just got up and fell back down….he did that 2 or 3 times and then once I was able to clear the dogs that was all she wrote…… ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/EoY769i.jpeg) The shot entered the arm pit…..came out of the deer’s belly and then grazed the hindquarter…..It must have caught a little bit of gut because he stunk…….. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/wA0lTaS.jpeg) Got another call on the way home on one that crossed the road on the hunter just at dark…….He wasn’t sure about the reaction but had a decent spot of blood at the hit site and then nothing else……We found him about 125 yards away in a thicket……… ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/nxFTUWJ.jpeg)

I'm behind on posting. Tracked this one grazed across the belly and few days ago. He whooped my pup but Muzz stopped him.

Tracked this leg shot behind some other dogs and about 7 people grid searching. Was almost 2hrs of sorting through the mess to jump the buck. He went alittle over 850 yards before he decided to stop. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/rsTRcdGq/20250124-221841.jpg)

Caught a leg shot spike this morning for a young guy then ran the heck out of a big buck. He went over several mountains so we decided we'd just leave him alone and let him heal up. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/2y8YYmt1/20250125-111410.jpg)
