James... it's different when it's used after you figured out how to hunt without it first. rofl

James your dang right I use it now. 😂

If you’re not putting it out your neighbors are for sure.

I’d be just fine if nobody baited too. I don’t care about the actual baiting. I don’t like how it came to be. You’re paying for permission to break the law. You know that right?

James , what they are saying is still true . The few years I ran cams and baited together it made it a whole lot easier to kill 2 and 3 year old bucks . When you make it easier for them to get killed over time that's all you have. I not against baiting or cams but it is what it is .

James,

I hunted many years without a camera or corn and I've killed many deer and I can still kill deer, without either.

I have SD card cameras, no cellular, and I do buy the stupid permit to put out bait now.

I'm not a hypocrite, I'll never deny doing either.

My point is there are a lot of folks out there today doing a bunch of killing simply because cameras and corn have made it easy for them to kill.

They know nothing about actual hunting.

A stupidly bad move by the state in my opinion.

It never was and never will be about anything other than a revenue generator.

My deer are hitting my grass a ton this year. Today evening hunt - all 8-9 deer by passed bait all together - one a pretty good buck. I glad i do not run cam on most of my fields and the one at my buck field is an sd cam. I do run them for about 10 weeks before season. Most of my matures never daylighted and only 1-2 hav daylighted few times on remaining cam. Buck field aint daylight in prob 6 weeks and that field unhunted for going on 5 weeks

Tdog, when I hunted Clarke county and they legalized corn I thought it was game over. Little did I realize that the deer had been fed corn for years. It was not the game changer I thought.

These wise bucks would killl a corn pile 50 yards inside of the woods beside a field but never step foot in the food plot.

See, IMO corn has leveled the playing field vs food plot and habitat improving land owners. It has NOT leveled the field for those that understand behaviors and biology.

Making people money is not the way to manage wildlife.

Agree with you. I should have said feeding corn is making folk a bigger bank roll. Feeding helping hunters see more. Selling it to them is making people side money. Yellow gold it really is.

Baiting has been legal for a few years now. First year or so yes some big deer were killed. I truly believe your older deer have figured it out. There is so much corn now in the woods older deer know to stay away or atleast hit it at night. Of course there will always be exceptions. I have 160 acres and we tried feeding this year. We noticed a stiff decline this year. Of course we had nice deer at night but that was it. I killed all three of my bucks on public land. Go figure. Even where I live, I’ve noticed a steep decline in deer sightings in the daylight. I saw way more deer in daylight on public lands. Is that because that’s your bigger tracts now with no corn and the fact that less and less people are hunting public lands?

Nah it's not hard to kill a deer. They are pretty dumb. Most 10 yr olds could learn enough to kill a deer without bait in about a 2 hr course. They may quit because they don't get to share pics with friends and family and target specific deer which is the fun part to a lot of them, but it would not be cause they could not be good enough hunters.
