Is piling food on the ground in order to concentrate feeding deer a good idea, just as a saliva borne highly contagious, fatal, disease is becoming a major factor in deer herds in the SE, a good idea? That's the kind of question that the state of Alabama will put together a task force to answer. They'll have it figured out in a decade or so, I'm sure.

Dang NIL and corn feeders ruined everything !! 🤣🤣🤣
I got to thinking - out of the 8 matures i got - only 3 of them hav daylighted 🤣🤣🤣. And i thought some more - i hav never shot a mature in this lease with his head in a feeder. Buck i shot this year was making scrape in tree line and last year was running does. And when i use to run cams at my bottom field - 2-3 days out of the year - my good one would daylight amd that field basically goes unhunted! Boy he gonna be easy to kill 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I guess it depends on the level of tame you got! Mine prob so spooky cause they been night hunted for generations
And my good hunt yesterday - none of them went to the feed. Does that make me a bettr hunter without the aid of corn? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self We need prayer for our country now more than ever

If bait and cell cams were not a thing I think a good majority of folks would quit, because they aren’t good enough hunters to be successful without the help. Yep. It turned a lot of folks into hunters all of a sudden. Especially bow hunters

It’s a money grab just like the additional saltwater fees. And it’s also a damn if you do and damn if you don’t. So DCNR knew that the majority of hunter$ would.

I know this has probably been said already....
Real or imagined biological impacts notwithstanding - it definitely leveled the playing field for those scenarios where neighbors were illegally baiting (with no hope of getting caught) and negatively affecting the adjacent lawful hunters. At least now, you have a choice to do it or not.
You gonna pull them pistols, or whistle Dixie?

Alfa lobby tells the political folks what to do including the the dept of conservation. They want every deer dead. They have controlled policy on deer hunting for years. That’s why the season is so long. How did you arrive at this conclusion?

You’re damn right it’s true. Insurance companies in general try their hardest to push for extended seasons and liberal limits. Deer collisions total over 1 billion yearly in this country. I used to work in that industry, its definitely a big concern for the bottom line. Alfa lobby tells the political folks what to do including the the dept of conservation. They want every deer dead. Carrier profits are controlled by premium rate approvals by state insurance departments. Carriers simply adjust rates to reflect risk and loss ratios but margins remain mostly consistent.
