Welp, that puts a bow on my season in Winston County…Monday is the last day of season here and I’m headed to Texas for a 4 day work meeting on Monday. This makes the third season in a row that I haven’t shot at a buck on our farm. I haven’t seen a buck older than 2.5 since bow season. I just thought last year was bad…I’m ready to take up a new hobby that doesn’t take away so much time and money from my family!!! Who am I kidding!? I’ll be out here slaving to plant trees and prescribe burn within the next few weeks. Unfortunately for my family, this is an obsession that I’ll never be able to kick

Well shot a doe yesterday evening and recovered early this morning. Moral of the story is when you find a lot of white hair like this: Look because it’s not always a non Lethal paunch shave. Thank God it was 25 degrees last night: Found her. She crashed 50 yards from food plot I shot her in

One yearling spike and a gaggle of turkey.
Keep your booger hooker off the bang switch.

Started now bow hunting this year and got my first archery buck. Not a stud but I'm proud of him. He was cutting through about 70 yards behind me. Grunted several times at him, annd he came in on a string right under my climber. 10 yds. Congratulations! I'm doing my best to join you this year. I've bow hunted every time I've been in the woods. I've only ever killed one with a bow and it was a yearling doe. I missed an 8 about a month ago.

That’s what I thought but there were no bite marks. .308 blew her guts open and destroyed the one ham. Unless it covered it for later. Will throw out ham that was blown apart to be safe even though no bite marks. Or do you think the whole deer is contaminated because of bobcat?

I wouldn't be messing with a deer that was gut shot and it laid in woods overnight.
