I guess this has become my new favorite thing to do. laugh

If anyone has any suggestions on how I can be more successful at it please feel free to share.

Although I am becoming somewhat of an expert on this subject also.

Now I’m not taking leaving things in Shooting houses I’m talking dropping things real good somewhere In The leaves in the woods or even better briar thickets

All advice on how I may become better at losing my crap in the woods is welcome.

I would also like to Thank all you men for your advice and years of expertise in honing this craft ! 😂

I always use to carry a backpack. Zip it up
I just carry less stuff now, still have a zipper pouch.

Fellas I have become a full blown professional!

Not even my pack has saved me from my expertise! lol

I think I’ve been hunting with my 12yo too much, next thing you know I’m going to want my hair to look like a llama! 😂

Me and Dad got on a gobbling turkey once. I got so focused on the turkey, that at some point during the slipping around the mountain I had leaned my gun against a tree and just kept going. We got a mile away and finally realized I didn’t have it. We managed to backtrack to the exact tree that it was left at, thankfully.

Ive transitioned to carrying less stuff. Used to carry a pack full of schitt, most of which I never used.

Now, if it doesn't fit in my pockets or my bino harness, it stays at camp.

I keep leaving my dang phone in the shooting house. Did it again this morning. Got to the house, changed clothes, got ready to go to the store and guess what? No phone. Had to make the walk all the way back to the shooting house and retrieve it. I know that's not the same but dang I'm getting consistent

I strapped my backpack to my climber and walked about half a mile in the dark. when I unstrapped the pack there was a hole in the bottom, the stiches had busted. I had a trail of stuff, rangefinder/spare ammo/knife/beanie/one glove/ grunt call
of course I didn't know exactly where i had walked, but finally found everything but the rangefinder. I learned my lesson about cheap packs, I got a Mystery Ranch and use the pockets rather than throwing it in the main compartment. I also lost a phone last year but that "find my phone" thing works pretty good

There must be about 50 single gloves in the woods where i hunt. Never lose them both. Just one. I always save the other because from time to time i walk up on one i lost. The struggle is real.

I bungee my platform and sticks to my backpack. I made it to the tree, hunted and was packing up when I couldn't find the bungee cord I use for my platform. It's not like I'd been anywhere- up the tree, hunted and climbed back down. Searched all around the tree, nothing to be found.
I have lost many gloves over the years. Probably my favorite thing to lose. One day they're in my pack, the next nowhere to be found.

I can't keep up with a good pair of gloves.

Always lose one somewhere along the way.

I did real good this year, I managed to lose the whole pair one Saturday while filling feeders.

Still haven't found them.

I would always stash my flashlight at the base of the tree I was climbing and cover it with leaves just to reduce how much crap I was carrying up in the stand with me. If you find an old yellow lantern battery flashlight at the base of a tree in Oakmulgee you found my spot. Bet I left a dozen down there.

I intentionally leave a bunch of crap in the woods - hunting and at work. We call it ITF. Individual Tree Fertilization.

I carry less. Leave drag handle - spot light etc in my truck. I lose stuff turkey hunting when i lay that slate down by the tree. Do not lay it down by tree

I’ve got the glove deal figured out. Use the little latches they come with to keep them in a “pair”! 😂
I’d lose one and lose one, finally I’ve made myself latch them together EVERY time now. Most hunting gloves come able to be tethered together for storage.

I used a backpack for years when I was serious about it. Then the backpack was for kids snacks, now I leave the backpack at home…😅

Dont lose much deer hunting. But turkey hunting is a different story. You could outfit someone to hunt just by following me.
