Sounds like chucky was right after all hmmm There’s a group here that discussed this scenario years ago. If some good hatches could happen at the right time - some credit would go to the wrong places. Thankfully, since that time, we've gotten research from both TN and MS that indicated moving the season a couple of weeks had no effect on reproduction. I doubt that even our dcnr is gonna be bold enough to take credit for any perceived population increase when they know it will quickly be refuted by folks armed with research results. Or maybe I'm wrong and they will try it. They will look bad if they do.

Well. DGT is officially dead. But there’s people in the industry willing to prop it up Weekend at Bernie’s style as long as they can. I just don’t understand it. I suppose it could be tied to funding future projects for certain individuals. But for the hunters that have been brainwashed by it - like a few on here - doesn’t make sense at all.

Y’all better knock on wood. The only way to keep them around is to have good nesting habitat close by for the hens. They’re gonna be where the hens want to be starting in a month or so That’s what is crazy I have the nesting cover but they still leave. Even good nesting cover doesn't compete well with corn Yes Sir. You’re on to something if you can have both. I’m always trying to draw commonalities but turkeys are a little bit different every different place I hunt em. Turkeys that live around water that fluctuates are tougher to me than upland birds. Those hens that hang out around the river try to find nesting in some thick places that I’ve seen

Haven’t heard anything from the ol wild turkey doc in a while now, not that I’m complaining.

Sounds like y’all have too many hens. Probably need to kill a bunch of hens so you will have more gobblers. Sounds ridiculous doesn’t it. I mean isn’t that how quality management works with deer?
I Well, the way I see it is there's just too many assholes On a good day there's a bunch of assholes in here. On a bad day there's too many assholes in here.

The more people come around to the benefits of fire the better. Smokey the Bear bear was full of it.

He’s made a ton of money off his DGT and now he never mentions it on any of his social media forums. He got a few state agencies to buy his inproven theory and probably millions in grant money from state and federal agencies as well as NWTF. Now he can sit back and play it straight and act like he never espoused any such theory. Much like “global warming” many years ago got many “scientists “ rich. Follow the money and you will eventually find the truth. Sure is funny how he got quiet once the evidence started coming out against it. He always claimed he had evidence but its still not peer reviewed published?

I got a pic of 7 gobbs in nov. tremendous - but hav not seen since. 6th year in this lease and every year they hav free loaded corn in deer season then either leave right before turkey season or within the first 5-8 days of the season being in to my neighbors hundreds of acres of hardwoods
Hope they show up in spring - will put out some scratch feed soon. This is the first year they did not hang with me any in deer season. Well - they hung with me one day
Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self We need prayer for our country now more than ever

I've had more turkey in the last two years than ever before I haven't hunted them much on my place because I've got a couple other places I can hunt but that's gonna change this year.

I am still trying to kill my first if anyone wants to help a brother out lol
Will hopefully be burning some of my place early March. Seems to be looking promising. Hope to kill more nest raiders soon too
