Regardless of the opinions on here about baiting…..everyone I talk to is still seeing less deer and less mature bucks……. from Fitzpatrick to Cusseta to Hurtsboro to Gold Hill….. same story… ……Maybe some folks will be able to convince them that they are all just bitchers and whiners..... smile

Our numbers on us are way down this year. Seems to be a common theme amongst neighboring properties as well

The processors around here are staying filled up. That’s where a lot of them are.

^^^ This right here. Every processor for 50 miles around here has stopped taking deer several times this year because they were full. Maybe all the great tribal, back to roots of hunting, mature 9 yr old and older only buck guys just aren't as good at hunting deer as they think they are?

It’s a common theme for your neighbors for miles……I’ve talked to quite a few of them now……Tracked one the other day for the guys next to the sod farm…..

All of the counties around here hammered does last year way over the numbers that had been killed in previous years…..I don’t think it’s a coincidence that folks are now seeing way less deer…..

"Deer numbers are down" and "we still see and kill deer" aren't mutually exclusive. Both can be true at the same time.

Fact is, baiting has made it easier to kill deer than it ever has been before. Most processors close due to being overwhelmed by deer that are 90% does. The vast majority of the 10% bucks are young turds. I've yet to drop a deer off that this wasn't the case. And if people are honest, that's the truth statewide.

I only have 40 acres. I have seen between 1 and 8 deer every sit except 2 this year. I've hunted 2 to 3 days a week since season started. I think my neighbors pressure them over to me. However, I had 3 very mature bucks on camera. They have disappeared. Pretty sure they got shot.

You come down here and sit at one and here’s what you will see come in. 80% or more 2 and under 15% 3 and 5% 4 or over. So yeah that’s exactly where all the bucks are and I’m probably generous on the 15% being 3.

We’ve had a down year for killing bucks, but they were there. Some we passed and some neighbors killed.

Our numbers and buck quality have been steadily improving over the last 7-8 years and it’s still going

Shed bucks are coming in to a few processors in north AL. They’ll make up a statistically significant number by 2-10. And yet the killing continues.

Get away from the corn and you’ll find where the older bucks are. They are in the big woods running the heck out of the does right now.

We’ve killed the daylights out of deer this year. From old does, young does, young bucks (kids only) and old bucks. We always grow more deer for the next season too.

We have plenty of mature buck, same as always. Our problem this year is the antler quality is down. Killed a 139, have another 145 on camera. The rest are 125” at best. We have more mature dinks (100” or less) than we ever have it seems like. I’m assuming it’s a one off thing. Hoping it’s not a trend.

It's called Chronic Corn Syndrome. Like feeding your kids nothing but ice cream and donuts. It'll put on weight with no nutrition value.

My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

If i was a betting man, this is where my money would be. If we get a picture of a good buck at a feed site, hes jyst walking through, not eating. Then you get the pictures of does running through, and of course you dont get a picture of the buck 30-40yds behind her because the camera takes a pic every 1min or 2min. Almost zero pics of good bucks eating at feed sites in last two to three weeks.
