I lost a sock and t-shirt (different occasions) and suggest that if you find either….leave them laying!

I’ve lost lights, reading glasses, but only 1 thing that really bothered me. I got an anodized aluminum pot call last year from a member made by a well respected call maker. Last few days of season it must have fallen out of my vest. I spent several hours retracing every place, path, and set up I could remember with no luck. I’m still sick about it.

I did leave my shotgun leaning against a tree one morning after killing a turkey. I was so jacked up and excited that I walked about 150 yards headed back to the truck before I realized it!

Lost my wallet tracking a deer. Guess it fell out while grabbing some marking paper while having gloves on and didn’t notice. Found it three seasons later tracking another deer. Took the moldy washed up coupe hundred dollars to the bank and they laughed at the story and gave me new. Lost about a 12’ chain one time, found it the next season while tilling plots. Damndest racket I’ve ever heard.

I bring my rifle and a couple extra rounds in my pocket when I go hunting. Turkey hunting, I’ve ditched the vest and just have a fanny pack with just what I need now. Makes it a lot easier on me.

If anyone has any suggestions on how I can be more successful at it please feel free to share.

Although I am becoming somewhat of an expert on this subject also.

Now I’m not taking leaving things in Shooting houses I’m talking dropping things real good somewhere In The leaves in the woods or even better briar thickets

All advice on how I may become better at losing my crap in the woods is welcome.

I would also like to Thank all you men for your advice and years of expertise in honing this craft ! 😂

Happens to me all the time. But you learn lessons losing stuff like not to use the slip on buttstock shell carriers. Sometimes stuff gets recovered by that Good Samaritan club member. Gloves are the ones that kill me when you lose 1 of them. rofl

Not lost but took a few to find it. Was having to drag a deer around the side of a mountain area of a rock tree slope. Rifle was not staying on my shoulder. Camo gun and shoulder strap. I set it on the ground and would drag 30-40 yards or so go get the rifle and drag again. Got turned around everything looks the same going back for the rifle. Seems like forever and kinda panic hit me then I found it. From then on I left my orange vest with rifle or deer which ever I left. Kept my orange hat on. Everything looks the same when you least expect it.

I left my backpack on the spare tire of my S10 blazer one year, costed me a bunch of money to replace everything at one time!

I’ve got two Benchmade knives out there somewhere that slid out of my pocket while squatting in light turkey pants. They weren’t thick enough to keep a secure lock on my knife clip. Still makes me sick.

We got a member that lost 2 climbers and 2 ozonics. Can’t remember where he put them in the woods. I was constantly looking up while turkey hunting that spring lol

Me too. Between my safety harness pockets and pants pockets, I can fit everything I need.

On our last trip to Illinois, my son lost the custom knife from Skullworks I gave him for Christmas last year. Kind of put a damper on the whole trip.

That reminded me. On more than one occasion while chasing a turkey, I’ve come out of my vest with just my shotgun and a mouth call. After chasing the turkey for a while with no luck, took me an hour to find my camouflaged vest laying up against the tree where I left it.
