Bob's resort in Gettysburg SD will put you on birds. Pushing 1 mile by 1 mile crop fields with standers on the far end. The sun flower fields are pretty rough when you walk across the rows. There is also a good bit of public land nearby that holds birds. It's been several years since I have been but we made it a yearly trip for 5 or so years and always went back to Bob's. Sometimes we just hunted public and sometimes we would book a few days with them and hunt public a few days. They hunt in large groups and stop at the group limit. Definitely follow through if you get the chance. Mitchell is the pheasant capital of the world and on the way to Gettysburg. They have a large Cabelas if you forget anything.

Also can hunt ditches there and the ducks can pile in those. Just a heads up. I forgot to add that. Great tip. You see pheasants like you see squirrels here. Check the regs, but you can pull off, shut your doors and step off the road to shoot birds in the right of way as long as you are far enough away from dwellings and livestock.

Tripp and Gregory counties in SD hold the " Golden Triangle " , the Pheasant hunting capital of the world. I've been twice to the place linked below, good folks and they have the birds . BTW, they're BIG Trump supporters . https://pheasantviewlodge.com/

When I learned this I was the happiest Redneck North of the Mason Dixon. We never went with dogs so this was our preferred method or walking overgrown ditches.

What kind of cost is incurred for these hunts on average ?? .We are thinking the fully guided with lodging. I don't recall what just the lodge and guide cost. But my share of the fuel round trip , one night hotel , meals on the road , license and what the lodge charged was bout $1,800 for a 3 days of hunting , best I remember . That was in 2020. I'd suggest calling Gary or Janice at the lodge I linked above.
