I always wanted the popup covers and finally got some. Broke them within a few weeks... Got some type of neoprene stretch over cover that I use now. But I'm not a big serious gun hunter.

As others said.
Used to use flip open, too much Hassel.
Now use rubber bikini covers.

Older flip ups used to be great, newer ones are garbage. Currently mostly use the covers that came with the scopes.

I use the neoprene $12 covers from Amazon. They work great. The best one I have is the cover that came with my trijicon.

I use Butler Creek flip ups , most of the time only on the objective end.

Butler creek for me too for at least 25 years. Front of binoculars too. Yeah the spring wears out but I just get another set. They seem to keep dust off the lenses better and last a long time

The easy (and cheap) button is to use a neoprene cover if you have enough room between the objective and the barrel. I like to have my scope low so I don’t always have the room.

If you’ve got a Leupold scope, the alumina covers are great, but they’re not cheap. They may fit some other brands, but can’t say for sure.

Plastic flip covers like Butler Creek are garbage. Flimsy and break easy.

If you have a Leupold, their Aluminum flip up covers are great.

Otherwise, go with a neoprene stretch cover.

I switched to Monstrum tactical and prefer them to Butler Creek and comes with lifetime warranty.

Some people hunt with scopes that cost less than good set of flip ups. I use the neoprene hoods when putting a gun in a case or safe. In the woods, nothing.
